Berri/Mont-Royal Cultural Hub

Montreal, 2005

The functional planning and feasibility study explored the potential of building in the heart of the Plateau Mont-Royal district, including the insertion of auditoriums, exhibition halls, and a library. Intended to consolidate the cultural, community and civic centre of the borough, the project had to respond to the needs of the site but also needed to be integrated into the development of the sector, which included the CommunityServiceCenter, the greenhouse and the Très-Saint-Sacrement monastery, the library and the Culture House of the Plateau Mont-Royal. These studies of synthesis made it possible to develop a plan of promising potential, matched by a concept that was visionary and stimulating in the form of a sensitive urban insertion.
