Centre Jeunesse Mont Saint-Antoine

Montreal, 2005

The MontréalYouthCenter looked to build a new university building on its Mont Saint-Antoine site, in the eastern part of Montreal. Under the same roof, the new building would host research directors, and the teaching/training/development of the university’s mission. It would also offer a place conducive to exchanges, the integration of functions and the relaying of knowledge. The planning and pre-concept took into account the patrimonial context of the site in proposing an approach that subtly refers to the work of the architect J.O. Marchand, designer of the original building. The new building frames the original one by proposing an elegant and contemporary treatment, transmitting the image of dynamism and audacity of the establishment.
