Ellendale Research Unit

Sainte-Justine Hospital, Montreal, 2007

A 2,000 m² research centre on the periphery of the Sainte-JustineHospital site meant to house the activities of the Research Unit on Children’s Psychological Maladjustment (GRIP), a group to which other parallel services will belong. The Research Unit is of the dry laboratory type, composed mainly of office spaces, meting rooms, open areas for students, and archival and data-consultation areas. The project offers a pleasant insertion on the boundary of a residential neighbourhood directly facing the hospital site, while exploring the risks associated with such an insertion.
