Food Processing and Environment Technologies

Agri-Food Technopark, Qujing, China, Constellation Monde, 2012

Acting as a vast exhibition hall, this building offers rental space to companies wishing to showcase their technologies, services or products to a targeted audience. Common areas – conference rooms, meeting rooms, etc. – are provided facilitate exchanges between the presenters and the public. Nicknamed “the basket” by its users, the building exploits the notion of weaving for its constituents: ceilings, structures, walls and a luminous screen are woven together to recall the basket used by local peasants during the harvest. The luminous screen wall, itself woven of LED, is synchronised with the meteorological centre and projects a nebula that fluctuates according to the weather; thus making it a gathering centre whose harvest depends on the weather.
