Maisonneuve-Rosemont Hospital

Centre of Excellence for Cellular Therapy, Montreal, 2013

This new pavilion is unique as it is the only cellular therapy centre of international scale in North America that meets the standards of European and American authorities. Its white rooms and its laboratories allow for the production of grafts, clinical studies and the development of new cellular therapies. Integrated among three pavilions in a very small site, the building fits in by virtue of its materiality, while at the same time standing out through the contemporary character of its architecture. Above a corridor of syncopated rhythm, the mechanical equipment floors are hidden by a ban of elaborate masonry on which stainless steel plates create ever-changing shadow effects throughout the day.
