Animal and Plant Processing Technology Pavilion

Technopark, Qujing, China, Constellation Monde, 2012

The buildings dedicated to the processing of animal and plant matter offer flexible industrial spaces for the latest industries in the agri-food sector. Located near fields and livestock, this succession of five buildings makes it possible to show the public how processed food products go from the field to the table. Through its didactic approach, placing the emphasis on scientific popularisation, the project introduces visitors to the processing activities by placing them in visual contact with these activities, without interfering with the process. On the site’s periphery, and inaccessible to the public, are 12 additional buildings that complete the chain. Attached to it is a composting centre treating the site’s waste material.
