Contributing to the emergence of new media, the SAT is a place of experimentation and expression of digital culture. Its relocation to an old public market in the centre of the Saint-Laurent Borough required long-term planning of both the programming the placement of structural elements. Early design decisions were made strategically to allow exhibitions, shows, and workshops to run from the opening while setting up the bases for future development. The interventions are discreet, keeping the original rough-and-bare spirit of the place and allow for flexibility and versatility with regards to programming that is every-changing.
